Quick answers before you visit.
Do I need an appointment?
No. Walk-ins are welcome and exams are done the same day. You can also text (403) 457-5900 if you have questions first.
Do I need to fast?
No. You can eat before your visit. Fasting is not required for the exam.
What tests will I need?
It depends on your age. Everyone has the medical exam. A urine test applies from age 5, a chest X-ray from age 11, and a blood test from age 15. See the table on our services page.
What should I bring?
Your original passport or travel document, your IMM 1017 form if IRCC sent one, glasses or contact lenses, and a list of your medications.
Do I need a passport photo?
No. We take your photo at the clinic.
How do my results get to IRCC?
We submit your report electronically through eMedical, usually within 5 to 10 days.
Who decides if I pass the medical?
IRCC does. The decision is based on the medical facts we report, not on the clinic.
How long is my medical exam valid?
Your result is valid for 12 months from the date of the exam.
What proof do I get after the exam?
An information sheet with your photo and case number.
